Clinical Services

Teen Health Connection is partnered with Levine Children's Hospital and offers a wide range of programs and services for teens age 11 to 21. Specialized clinical services include:

Adolescent Primary Care

Teen Health Connection’s physicians and nurse practitioners provide on-going teen-specific primary health care for young people. Primary health care is also known as general health care. All teenagers need to have a primary care provider who takes care of their annual or sports physicals, helps out if the teen gets an acute illness, makes sure that immunizations are up to date, and provides health promotion and support to the teen and family regarding the normal developmental milestones of adolescence.

Adolescent Consultation

Consultation for complicated medical problems for teens is provided by physicians specializing in Adolescent Medicine at Teen Health Connection.  After a teenager is seen for consultation, he /she returns to his / her primary care provider in the community for routine health care. The Teen Health Connection staff then collaborate with the primary care provider until the consultative issue is resolved.

Common referral issues include:

  • Disorders of puberty

  • Reproductive health issues

  • Eating disorders

  • Acne

  • Emotional and behavioral problems

  • ADD/ADHD

Adolescent Mental Health

Teen Health Connection provides comprehensive healthcare services, which means both physical and mental healthcare.  Our medical providers utilize a psychosocial assessment tool designed to address the many facets of an adolescent’s daily life. Often times there are issues and concerns that warrant further discussion with a mental health professional.  There is a psychologist available at Teen Health Connection who provides mental health services including consultation, assessment, and brief counseling.  Our psychologist also makes referrals to community providers for the teens and their families that would benefit from ongoing care.

Common referral issues for our psychologist include:

  • School failure

  • Depression

  • Sleep problems

  • Anxiety

  • Relational stress

  • Weight and body image concerns

  • Family communication.
